Bsod driver_power_state_failure

Hello

I have an ASUS-G1Sn with Windows Vista 64 Bit SP2. There are times I get a BSOD with the message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. It would happen randomly but usually afterwards it won't happen again for a while. I suspect that it might have something to do when I leave my laptop in Hibernate/StandBy Mode (or the mode in which the lid is closed) for a very long time.

Before getting these, I was getting other BSOD for IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL whenever i used Video webcamming applications such as skype and I suspected it had something to do with the K-Lite Codec (video codec) packs in which I uninstalled. Now I'm getting the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSODs.

Provided are the 3 latest Dump Files, any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Update your camera card driver - snp2uvc.sys & see if it helps quell BSODs.

Install Vista SP2.

Re: Bsod driver_power_state_failure

Looks like I'm still getting the BSODs

I'm up to the latest driver for the webcam.

The webcam has been kinda (lack for a better term) crap anyways. Would a good workaround for now is to disable the webcam hardware through Device Manager?

I can't seem to rollback on any other previous drivers either, I guess the driver I thought to have installed was in fact the latest one.

Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump
Zip up the contents of the folder and then attach/upload the .zip file with your next post.

Re: Bsod driver_power_state_failure

Sorry for the delay, I don't travel as well as I used to. Will get home Sunday night, so I hope to "normalize" soon.

You've got errors with your Webcam, and with your Intel Wireless device.
You've also got corrupted dump files.

I'd suggest the following:
- disable the webcam in Device Manager until this is solved
- update the Intel wireless drivers
- update your motherboard/chipset drivers
- run a memory diagnostic: http://www.carrona.org/memdiag.html
- run a hard drive diagnostic (a hunch): http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html

Then monitor for further BSOD's and let us know if there are any.
