OS: Windows Vista Home Premium


network cable unplugged error

i have installed windows vista home premium,when the os is up and running the dsl broadband connection is not getting connected.the loacl area connection shows"network cable unplugged". how do i configure my system to connect to the internet.the ethernet card is fine with ubuntu live(gets connected to the internet).

make sure its not bunt make sure its properly plugged in or try another ethernet cable

Give this a try.
The cable modem I have does the same thing if I plug a different computer in to it and it may see the Ubuntu system as different.
In my case I unplug the power to the modem and remove the battery from it for 5 seconds. Then turn it on again and all is good.
