Pressing [Shift] causes keyboard to enter...

Hi everybody,

Looks like a great forum, my first post here. I'm a complete noob, so please don't laugh if there's a very simple solution to this. Thanks a bunch in advance!

I don't know what on Earth happened but when I press the left [Shift] button on my keyboard, it types the value '7' and the right [Shift] button types the value '2'. I didn't have this problem just a few days ago and can't remember if I might have accidentally changed some settings. What might be causing this?

It's really slowed down my typing speed as now I have to use the [CAPS LOCK] button to switch between upper and lowercase letters.

Please help!

I would go into the control panel, then into the keyboards screen. Then check it's on the correct language settings for your region as the first port of call.
