To answer your question... not any longer. I have no idea what that gibberish meant.
Run msinfo32 and save it as an NFO file - START | msinfo32 | save w/ default NFO file ext Zip it up and attach to your next post. Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Did you enter the 3 #'s for DNS Servers?

I'm not exactly sure what that means, but nothing has asked for any #'s. Can you explain, please? Thank you.

Re: Network problem became Firefox & Outlook problem, then MS update became AVG probl
Hi -
Apologies. There are static IP addresses for DNS Servers - e.g., 12.345.67.89 Do you recall entering such numbers or know about them? jcgriff2 . |

Yes, I know of them; have not entered any on this new machine. I have had to reassign before on a different machine.

Hi -
Does the AVG you are running have a firewall? Update your Intel 5100 wifi driver (your current = April 2008) - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sear...+5100+products Any particular reason that SP2 is not installed? Regards. . . jcgriff2 ` Last edited by jcgriff2; 09-14-2009 at 05:30 AM. |

Re: Network problem became Firefox & Outlook problem, then MS update became AVG probl
I'm using AVG's Web Shield / Resident Shield, plus a router.
Updated network driver and installed SP2 (thought all updates were automatically downloaded and installed). |

Still do not have functionality with 32 bit programs - Firefox, IE and OpenOffice. Other programs may be affected, but are unknown.

Re: Network problem became Firefox & Outlook problem, then MS update became AVG probl
Bump.....Is there a way to fix my computer?
Now, since the 14th, AVG has been unable to connect for updates. It seems that all of my 32 bit programs have connection failure. Last edited by TCMgirl; 09-22-2009 at 10:55 AM. |

Re: Network problem became Firefox & Outlook problem, then MS update became AVG probl
Hi -
WERCON history tells us that the 1st crash Outlook 1st crashed back on May 1, 2009. You mentioned it is a 90-day trial version -- the trial was over ~ August 1. This helps explain the August 4 Outlook crash. That in turn helps explain the crashes in green - they are security related. Scroll to the right & see the Network diagnostic runs in blue - Code:

Re: Network problem became Firefox & Outlook problem, then MS update became AVG probl
After the trial time is expired, Office 2007 opens with a message window stating its limited services status. It allows you to make a choice whether to run in that state or upgrade.
Since expiration of the trial, I've been using limited Outlook to receive mail, but send email from a server-based client. I'd prefer to uninstall Office 2007, but have valuable email sitting in Outloook folders. I have the Vista rescue disk and can put the backup on my server if reinstallation is necessary. Thank you for your attention. |
