internal mic not working

Hi first post
hp laptop internal mic not working, says all is working ,latest driver has been downloaded, tried with diffrent programs wont record a thing

Hey check the mic sound levels and see whether it is the default recording device

checked all sound levels & in recording devices I can see the the connexant mike
it says it is working, but the set as default box is not highlighted & tried a few ways cannot get it to light up to hit it,
tried hp support they say full reinstall seems along way round for a short cut.
Its like taking the engine out of a car to put a stop light bulb in; (im a mechanic buy the way)

Run a DirectX Kernel Diagnostics report -
START | dxdiag - if x64, click x64 button at bottom-center of screen | save as text file

Zip up text file & attach toy our next post.

You need to update your system with Vista Service Pack 1 - minimum.
