What do U think of the files transfer wiz
Ok, I have been using XP pro for yrs.
I have finally added a new drive and installed Vista home prem and both are running great, dual boot scenario. xp= C: & Vista= D: each on separate drives. What's the best way to get my settings like email accounts, rules and etc. to Vista? I'm really not interested in transferring programs because I know some of the XP programs aren't going to work on Vista. MTIA |

Re: What do U think of the files transfer wiz
Had issues with it transferring from XP to Vista on my wife's system.
The cursor would continually flash as if the system was accessing a CD-ROM. Never did fix it - we just learned to live with it. IMO importing anything other than data is asking for troubles. You don't know what your settings/tweaks (in XP) will do when they're imported into Vista.

FAST will not transfer programs anyway . . I find it inconsistent, sometimes not willing to work on the new system. When I use it, I also back up files, favorites, email and addressses just to be safe.
