Post Opengl and games - need help! :o

yo, thanks for looking at this, first post, so i am asking the experts :P okay so heres the problem:

i had COD1 (call of duty 1 ) and could play it and things, before my brother (grrrr....) went on my laptop and started deleting things to "speed up" the laptop. sure enough it was a little faster, after scouring it of all the unwanted files and programs (lol). only thing is, i went to play COD1 again, and it says i am missing the OpenGL file. i checked, couldnt find it, but i have updated all the graphics and video cards for it. i can SEE the OpenGL file in the drivers directory, but the game just isn't having it! tried everything:

1: re-installing the game
2: re-installing the game after updating drivers
3: updating the drivers
4: yadda yadda you get me i tried pretty much everything i can think of! :O

this is the error message that comes up when i try to play the game:
