Re: Cant Boot From CD Drive

That download is an ISO file. What software did you use to create the Recovery Disc?
Here's a guide: http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/wi...windows/?p=622

This ISO burner is free and works very well.

Re: Cant Boot From CD Drive

It would appear the disk was not created correctly, you could try the disk in another machine and see f you get prompted to press any key to boot from CD.

Please follow the link from Tyree to make your disk correctly as it is apparent the first one did not come out right.

Re: Cant Boot From CD Drive

I tested the cd out on my other vista and it loaded up the recovery disk fine, but i tried it on my main pc im using now and it doesn't work.

I realise its hard to see whats going on so i made this short video showing my bios with the settings saying to load from cd .... and my boot order of cd first but it still doesnt load.

Re: Cant Boot From CD Drive

I can't see your video without joining motionbox.
From your post #8 *the pc im using now has problems with burning*
The disc you created works in your other PC so perhaps the problem is with your optical drive?
And, after rereading your first (my apologies for not seeing it earlier) I see the optical drive is not recognized in the BIOS.

Re: Cant Boot From CD Drive

OHHH I think i know what it is :P It wont show up in the boot order. I think because my cd drive isnt connected straight to the motherboard.... the sata cables connects into a pci adapter card because my graphics card took up some of the orriganal slots.

I will try now with my graphics card out and the sta cables connecting dirrectly to the motherboard and tell you how it goes.
