Entire Computer Freezes
Hey, OK so the problem basically is my entire computer freezes. It becomes completely unresponsive. I have to hold in the power button to shut down. And when I start up again and get back to the desktop no error messages appear. It only happens when I am running games and occasionally when I am watching DVDs. It started a while ago after I purchased a game called Mount & Blade but I am not sure if that was just a coincidence. I have checked around on their forums but nothing seems to help.
System Info: OS: Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 32-bit Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.4GHz RAM: 8GB Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT I do know a bit about computers but for complicated solutions I probably need a detailed walkthrough. Thanks to anyone that attempts to help me with. If you need to know anything else don't hesitate to ask. |

Well, i am just going to go over the basics of what i know since were both learning :).
Are you using a laptop? DO you have the correct drivers installed and updated for your videocard do a scan here http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us What antivirus and spyware do you use and have you ran test? Do you know what FPS (Frames per second) you were getting in the videogames that you play? Did you do anything else to your pc before you installed the game "Mount & blade" Have you reformated recently? Thats it for now :) kershaw |

Re: Entire Computer Freezes
The only thing i could think of is that something in the configs when you play games your problem happends. i would say its a corrput file somewhere...no clue where though. I have the same setup as u do but in a laptop (dell xps).
I guess my recomendation is to reinstall your drivers and if that doesnt work then reformat your pc which is EXTREAMLY drastic. Lets wait to hear from somebody else :). |

Re: Entire Computer Freezes
Well after reinstalling my drivers it has not froze yet. But I will probably still need to wait a while just to make sure that it is fixed.
