Connection reporting problems
Hi,
Since a few weeks, something strange happens again and I'm not sure if it's my internet connection of this OS (Vista, Home Premium, SP1). You all know that blue networksymbol on the taskbar; when there is a world symbol on it, it means there is a working connection: when there is a problem, there is no symbol. This reporting seems to fail now. Sometimes, I notice the symbol is gone, but the internet is still working fine. If I visit a website, it occurs again after a few seconds. So there is either something wrong with the reporting OR my connection. Is there software available to check if my connection stays? Any idea what the problem could be? Thank you

No, I don't have internet loss. Everything works fine, including pinging.
The problem is this:  This symbol means there is an internet connection. Sometimes that small globe on it disappears, meaning there is a connection problem. But when that happens, I still have connection and after opening a website, it reports it fine again after a few seconds. So either there is something wrong with the checking of my connection (by Vista), or something is wrong with my connection. That's the problem :P |
