Cannot sign into yahoo messenger or AIM

Hey everyone.
I have been consistency trying to sign on to AIM and yahoo messenger for over an hour, but i get the following errors:
AIM: a sever error occurred
Yahoo: there was a problem signing into yahoo messenger. please try again later.

the passwords are correct, Sn is correct both are the latest version.

seems like something is blocking it...but i dont know how to check or to unblock it.
My brother can sign on to both of them fine... please help. its driving me nuts!

nevermind. i checked...windows firewall is not blocking any of them. i have nod 32 smart security...which includes its own firewall...and its not blocking the programs either.

it was working fine yesterday...i didnt do anything different since then. please help.
