Re: Recovery DVD Vista
It depends.
is it a Dell Or HP or other pre configured machine? With out more info it sure is difficult to know what you are trying to do. What is wrong with Vista that makes you want to start over? |

Re: Recovery DVD Vista
If the Recovery DVD(s) is an image of the system, it should restore the system to factory default settings - the way it was when you 1st opened the box and turned it on.
As pat mcgroin asked, why do you/ would you want to delete Vista? |

Re: Recovery DVD Vista
The computer a laptop is a ASUS X58Cseries I bought new as it was very cheap to aid me with my business but I don't need Vista. With other computers I got an installation CD and going back as for as Win3.1 floppies. With the ASUS I only got a recovery CD and I don't no if I can re-install with this if I needed to after I have wiped it off like I did the others. I never have re-installed but would like the option, I am the sort of person who hangs on to bent nails in case I may need them. On the back of the ASUS there is a sticker with the product Key so what do you think about being able to re-install and thank you for the replies.

Re: Recovery DVD Vista
How many Asus recovery CD's do you have?
Are they factory labelled? What are they labelled? Do you have a recovery partition on your Asus laptop?

Re: Recovery DVD Vista
It's cheaper to contact the system manufacturer for restore disks than it is to buy a copy of Vista. I haven't done it with Asus, but the disks are usually $20 to $30 (US) from other manufacturers.
