Win 7 Upgrade

I have preordered the Windows 7 upgrade from amazon.com. I currently run Xp Professional.

My question is this. My copy of XP is not legit cuz my buddy installed it on a new rig that I built. Will I still be able to upgrade to 7 and will it be legit?

I did some reading on the topic and it seems that opinions are 50/50 yes/no.

HELP.

Re: Win 7 Upgrade

An upgrade license is tied to the original license so if the original is not legit the upgrade technically won't be either.
