[SOLVED] GRUB Loader

I have Vista installed on my Asus laptop. I was dual booting Ubuntu and decided to get rid of it. The GRUB Loader is still there and has an error because it cannot find the Ubuntu boot information therefore comes up with an error and I cannot boot into any OS.

Other forums suggested I use the repair setting on the Vista install disk but the disk I got from Asus with the laptop, goes straight into a recovery mode which just "recovers" Vista onto a HDD. I did this but it doesn't get rid of the GRUB loader.

Any other ideas on how to get rid of this to boot in Vista cleanly again?

Re: GRUB Loader

You can borrow someone else's Vista disc to restore the boot loader. Or you can restore GRUB and let it manage the boot options.

Well doing that got rid of GRUB now when I booted in Vista it comes up with a cmd box and a Windows setup box that says it is "Installing the Application"
Is this normal?
