Using Offline NT Password & Registry Editor with Flash Drive
For some reason I thought it was a good idea to change my domain on both laptops that use active directory for login. I do not have the admin password so I have to reset it.
-One laptop has a CD ROM -One laptop only has USB ports I fixed one laptop with NT Offline Password Recovery because it has a CD ROM. --- My problem is the other laptop only has USB ports; I tried booting from the flash drive with the same iso as the CD. This just makes the tool only see the flash drive as a file system and doesnt recognize my windows partition. I also tried to trick my flash drive into thinking it was a floppy drive, and created the floppy image. I got a boot error because there is no floppy installed on this computer's bios. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Or maybe have an alternate solution? |
