Vista gone REALLY slow
Hey guys im sure you have alot of posts about computers being slow, however i have searched the forum for a solution but havent found one just yet, recently my computer has acted with very slow reaction times to my clicks, i sometimes have to click a window a few times for it to maxmise or minimise, ive run a whole system virus scan, run searches for adware, malware and spyware, and even a registry cleaner, but still no progress, it leaves me to think it must be something with the hardware however i am not sure how i can find that out, i have Everest (diagnostic software) so if you'd like me to report something from there, please reply :)
any help is appreciated, Thanks |

Re: Vista gone REALLY slow
Check to See if SearchFilterHost.exe is running in task manager under processes. It probably is, infact it should be. What it shouldn't be doing is using above 50 cpu, if it is, follow these instructions:
1. Go to Computer, right-click on your local disk and click properities. 2. In the General Tab, look for a checkbox that sais something about indexing. 3. Uncheck that. 4. A file operation should start (It doesn't do anything bad) 5. Once the file operation finishes, restart your computer. 6. Did this help? Yes or no, or did you not have SearchFilterHost.exe Eagle123 |
