Mic problems

Alright i bought this mic http://www.cyberacoustics.com/index....content_id=320 quite a while ago.It is pretty screwed up.I use a program called ventrilo to communicate with people while playing games. So my mic stopped working.I don't know if it's a soundcard problem or bad mic jack or the mic is broken. When i record and playback all i hear is low static. When i wave the mic around all i get is static sounds coming out my speakers.

Re: Mic problems

hi and welcome to TSF go to start control panel and in classic view device manager then to sound video and game controllers click on the little + to expand the view if you see any yellow ! or red Xs. go to the comp manufacturers support website and download the latest sound driver for your make and model.this may still be a good idea even if no warning signs are showing

Re: Mic problems

Go to the volume settings by right clicking the speaker in the corner by the sound and opening them. Make sure that the mic volume is not muted. Next, open sound recorder by going to start>accessories>sound recorder
Hit the record button speak into the mic. If it records you, try the games again. If it doesn't work in there, or if it does, let me know. If not, unplug the mic and plug it back in. After you do that, reboot the computer.
Open the sound recorder again and try recording again. If you still cannot hear your voice on playback, call cyber acoustics tech line at 360-823-4100 and tell them what is wrong. Let me know if you fix it, or at least change the settings on this thread to fixed if you fix it.
