frustrating browser problem
hello, thank you for your consideration in advance.
i have 2 computers running on a cable internet connection via motorola router. computer 1 is a desktop running windows xp and there are no problems with it. computer 2 is a laptop running windows vista, this is the computer with the major issues. i have both google chrome and ie installed on this computer, and neither will connect to any web page. however, other programs such as city of heroes updater and vuze (bittorrent client) are able to connect and ul/dl information with no problem at all. so i am pretty sure there is no problem with the internet connection, because i can ping any website in a cmd line. when i run a system restore, the browsers will connect for a short time, then the problem comes right back. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you! |

Re: frustrating browser problem
Boot into safe mode with networking and see if you can get a connection.
What security software is installed?

Re: frustrating browser problem
Did you use the Norton removal tool? http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039
Make sure you disable windows defender and firewall.
