Got a new hard drive; problems with installing stuff

I just received a new hard drive from Dell today (I'm running a Dell XPS M1530, and it has been plagued with hardware problems since the one month limited return warranty expired)

My computer is now running Vista again, and it is stable. However, there are a couple of (large) problems.

1. Most importantly, I do not have ANY Microsoft Office programs. This includes Word and Excel, the only ones that I really use. I can't run Excel programs either.

2. My MediaDirect disk won't install. I used it to reinstall MediaDirect on my old hard drive before it died on Sunday, and it worked then. It says "Initializing...", gets to 4%, then says "Installation errors". I need this for my Fingerprint logins and the nice (albeit sometimes annoying) toolbar at the top of the screen. There are no significant marks on the disk (there's a tiny tiny fingerprint, that's it).

Can someone help me out here? Thanks in advance

-Jon
