No sound in flash videos.

Everything was working fine until yesterday morning when the sound no longer played in flash videos. The sound still works with mp3s and offline games, but there is no sound on anything that uses the flash plugin. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the flash player and my sound drivers, but this did not solve the problem. I would be very grateful in someone could help me.

Thanks

Re: No sound in flash videos.

Hi -

Perform a Windows System Restore -
START | rstrui - choose a restore point prior to the beginning of the trouble.

Be sure that your Windows Updates are up to date. Check your device drivers for updates - go to your manufacturer's web site and look for "driver downloads" in the support area.

Regards. . .

Re: No sound in flash videos.

No sound from flash videos is sometimes a very difficult problem and other times it's a very simple problem. In your case, it seems to be very difficult. I was helping another person for two weeks and two hundred posts, but I was still unable to solve his problem. (This is a list of things we tried: Sound Problems Identical To Murderhewrote ). Then there was another person who I was helping with the no sound from flash videos. He ended up doing a Windows Repair, but that still didn't work.

Maybe someone else can come up with a better idea, but keep in mind that your final option would be to format your hard drive and reinstall windows xp.

Re: No sound in flash videos.

Yeah, I was beginning to lean toward doing a format and reinstall. I have two hard drives so doing that would be no big deal. Thanks

For the record, did you do a "clean installation" (format > reinstall) or a repair installation?

Re: No sound in flash videos.

I did a clean install. I formatted the hard drive and installed it as if it where new.
