New PC with Vista, internet works at office NOT at home, and the routers are same.
Hello, I just purchased an HP laptop with Vista. The laptop works in my office with a Linksys wirless router, but when I take it home it does not work. I know the home is working, because I have an old laptop with XP and it runs internet fine. It has been over 5 weeks of trying to figure this out! Ugh! The HP laptop that does not connect can't find the wireless, when it does once in a while, it shows an excellent signal, but still wont connect. I dont get it, the day I bought it, I brought it to work and it "found' the router asap, but not at home! Someone please help!

Re: New PC with Vista, internet works at office NOT at home, and the routers are same
does your wireless at home, at all show up in your 'available wireless networks' regardless if they are the same router or not, your going to have to allow the access to the wireless, is your wireless at home unsecured? or secured? if it is secured its going to have different wireless 'settings' then your wireless settings at work.

Re: New PC with Vista, internet works at office NOT at home, and the routers are same
Hey Scott, the wireless at home shows up every so often, especially when I keep trying to refresh the network. My wireless at home is unsecured. Office is secured. I have tried to set up a a wireless connection and it wont find it or when it does connect to it.
