Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Hi,
We'll need more system info. Please follow the instructions in this post http://www.techsupportforum.com/1871981-post2.html and attach the resulting files to your next post. If the zip file is too big then split the contents into more than one zip.

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
I didn't look at the system info that you've attached - just at the minidump.
It appears that the crash probably occurred because of the yk60x86.sys driver with a time stamp of Tue Jul 31 06:11:26 2007. This driver belongs to a Marvell Yukon Ethernet device. As such I'd suggest downloading a fresh copy of the driver, then uninstall the current driver, reboot, and install the fresh copy. Here's the analysis of the minidump: Code:

Hi,
I'm sorry but the batch file didn't work. Could you run it again please? Make sure you followed all the instructions right. Meanwhile, I've gone into the minidump in some more detail: Code:

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Thanks Darcia for the reply - Sure, I would provide you with the new report shortly. But the laptop was purchased on Mar 2008. So could it be that the drivers conflict had already been existing. Please advice.

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Could you go into more detail? Did you buy the laptop second hand?

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
No, the laptop was purchased first hand from a local dealer here on March 2008. And the driver problems shown below are all dated 2007. So my question is were these problems already existing when the purchase was made?

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Hi Dracia,
We are facing a new problem now. We have observed that the command prompt window immediately closes on running of the batch file in my friend's laptop whereas in mine it stayed and executed the full process. We have tried to run the batch file through the following command through googling : cmd.exe /k C:\Users\Family\Desktop\BSOD_Vista_v2-2_jcgriff2_.bat and here is the output we got Code:
C:\Windows\system32>echo off

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Well on fixing the ipconfig error and running the batch files I have attached the results.
But we still are getting the following error which we are unable to solve and the rest is attached. 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. |

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Hi,
Regarding the drivers from 2007, they mean that the drivers were made in 2007. Even if you installed them today, they would still say 2007. I hope that makes sense As for the batch commands not working, I'll PM the creator of them to see if he knows.

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Yes thank you, I think I understand now but on running HP System Health Check all the drivers have been shown up to date.
And sure, once the solution is obtained could you please let us know so that we can give you the right batch files. In my system I am able to run the full scan as instructed but in my friend's system I was getting the 'wmic' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. |

Re: BSOD Issue, HP Presario Notebook
Hi -
The reports show apps crashing back to early 2008 when the system was new (or initial boot). They continue through the New Year and hit hard in Feb 2009. April 13, 2009, saw a dramatic increase in app crashes that is with you to this day. I find dozens of outdated drivers to be a primary cause. Here are a few - note the 1992 date on the 1st; the last is an HP app that tries to start several times per minute all day. It can't find the file it needs - Code:
TypingMasterENG.exe, time stamp 0x2a425e19 = Fri Jun 19 15:22:17 1992 CLMedia.dll, time stamp 0x43118e4f = Sun Aug 28 03:13:35 2005 WINWORD.EXE, time stamp 0x45428028 = Fri Oct 27 14:54:48 2006 hpqwmiex.exe, timestamp 0x4457c3f7 = Tue May 02 13:41:27 2006 Event[19]: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 2009-05-25T09:09:40.000 Level: Error The hpqwmiex service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. Code:
Event[17]: Log Name: Application Source: MSSQLSERVER Date: 2009-05-25T09:07:24.000 The Database Mirroring protocol transport is disabled or not configured. Event[18]: Log Name: Application Source: MSSQLSERVER Date: 2009-05-25T09:07:24.000 The Service Broker protocol transport is disabled or not configured. My advice to you is to re-install Vista. You should have a recovery partition or Vista DVD to do so. Allow all Windows Updates to come in along with HP driver updates. Here is the HP support site for India - http://welcome.hp.com/country/in/en/support.html Be sure to back up any data that you wish to keep such as docs, pics, music, etc... Regards. . . jcgriff2 ` |
