Vista Crash Problem
I've got an Acer Aspire 5920G with Vista Home Premium 32bit which has worked perfectly for six months until last week. After I've entered my password on the windows login screen, nine times out of ten my screen will crash, where is just becomes filled with horizontal lines. Sometimes I'll get past the login in screen and I'll see the desktop for a few seconds and the screen will crash again, this time the lines will be blue, the colour of my desktop. If I restart enough times I can login without this happening, but one time I got the crashed lines screen a few hours after logging in. This doesn't happen when I run in safe mode.
System Restore fails, even when I can get it to restart without crashing at the login screen. The computer hasn't been performing as well either. I can't run certain games anymore without them crashing and Firefox is playing up. I've scanned for viruses, but nothing has come up. Any ideas what could be causing this? Could it be a hardware problem? |
