[SOLVED] Blue Screen crashes daily (Dump files attached)
My Vista SP1 machine is crashing and rebooting about once a day. I then get a popup message about a blue screen error. Looking in the Event Viewer, I see several entries like this: "The previous system shutdown at 7:58:41 PM on 4/28/2009 was unexpected." I found similar entries going back several weeks. Each one was preceded by an event from WindowsUpdateClient saying "Automatic Updates is now paused", about four minutes before the shutdown time.
I'm attaching the files mentioned in the post, "System Info & BSOD Mini Kernel Dump File Collection" (http://www.techsupportforum.com/1871981-post2.html) by jcgriff2, in hopes that he (or someone else) can point me towards a particular file that's causing the crash. This machine is used exclusively as a Media Center for recording TV shows, and is connected only to a TV. It has two Hauppauge TV tuner cards, an Nvidia GeForce 6600LE video card, 1 GB of RAM and plenty of free hard drive space. Please let me know if there's anything else I can provide. Thanks! Russell |

Re: Blue Screen crashes daily (Dump files attached)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Yes, that makes perfect sense. I've downloaded and updated the driver for that device, so hopefully that will take care of the problem. I really appreciate the help! Russell |
