My computer isn't recognizing my cd rom. I am unable to burn cd's and run programs on disks. How can I get it to recognize it? Help!!!

Hello
Is the Drive detected in Device Manager? Click Start > in the search field type devmgmt.msc If the drive is detected uninstall it and restart the system. Check the filters. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060 If still not working check and make sure that drive is detected in BIOS.
