Vista Booting Menu

Hey guys.. I'm currently running Vista, but I use to have XP as well. When Vista boots at some point it gives me a option to loan Vista or XP even though I no longer have XP installed. How can I remove this menu and just have Vista start automatically? Sorry I don't know what the proper screen is called so I was unable to find this answer via search.

Hi, go to control panel then "system" on the left select "advanced system settings" then "advanced" select "settings" under "startup and recovery" make sure Vista is the default OS.

I did what you said and i think that fixed the problem however before i did that i used the advice of someone else and tried deleting the c:\boot directory and now vista wont load at all. it says:

system32\hal.dll is missing. I can run recovery or anything.. what can i do??
