Pin [SOLVED] My computer will not wake from hibernation

I recently completely wiped my hard drive because there were a lot of problems with it. I had to update and install a few drivers but every thing worked fine, 120% better than it did before. But last night told it to hibernate and i couldn't get it to wake up. The screen is blank nothing works.

the cd/dvd rom starts up and then shuts down a few seconds later. the mouse pad and the keyboard don't respond to anything. the only thing that works is the touch pad for volume, play, pause, stop etc... I've tried draining all the power from the pc (as well as the battery) but it doesn't start up all the same. It's about a year old and doesn't have any special software.

It has Microsoft Office 07, spybot, iTunes, and that's it.

If anyone has a solution or even a suggestion, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Last request so we can proceed. From the label at the bottom, kindly get the Part Number. Post back with the info.

Re: My computer will not wake from hibernation

Thank you. Now check this document http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...77&lc=en&cc=us

Your laptop is covered (per model and part number).

The following symptoms apply to the dv6000, dv9000 and v6000 series notebooks:
  • The notebook does not detect wireless networks and the wireless adapter is not detected in the Device Manager.
  • There is no video on the computer LCD panel or external monitor.
  • The notebook has no power and no active LEDs.
  • The notebook does not start.
  • The battery charge indicator light does not turn on when the battery is installed and the AC adapter is connected.
  • The notebook issues a single beep during boot indicating no power.
  • The external monitor functions but there is no image on the notebook LCD panel.

I suggest you call HP and avail of the extended warranty. Mention to HP rep that your laptop does not start.

This is a motherboard/BIOS related problem and only HP can fix.

I hope that helps.

Re: My computer will not wake from hibernation

Yeah, thanks. I called them and they said that they had been having this problem with some of the older models. They said that they will fix it free of charge.

Thanks for the advice :)
