[SOLVED] executible downloads problem

never had this problem before but i'm using mozilla firefox and when i download .exe file and try to open them nothing happens, like i've tryed getting the new AVG version and everything downloads fine it scans it and after that im unable to open it (right clicking just shows the "open" dulled out) and it isn't saved in my downloads folder. tryed IE but wen the download completes the box with "open and open folder" dissapears and its not in downloads either.

please help !!

hi and welcome help with the use of programs like limewire is against forum rules as mentioned here P2P

We believe that the main purpose of P2P programs is to illegally download and use copyrighted material of whatever description. We further understand that there may be legal uses for P2P, but as we are not able to assess a user's intent when he/ she asks for help, we do not support P2P software and we will not assist any user in this regard. This includes but is not limited to Bearshare, Kazaa and many others.

emmm... sorry but yea it was just an example same problem with AVG free 8.5 its not like it has anything to do with limewire and the problem hasnt been caused by it either because obviously i dont have if i can open downloaded files
but thanks for telling me anyways ... same goes for other things i've tryed to download and solve the problem for example HJT

ok how long have you had this problem have you tried system restore to a time before it began or in fact have you ever been able to download

about 2-3 days now but i didnt think of that il try it hopefully that shud sort it .. thanks

seems to have worked, couple of bugs but i can now scan it all ... thanks alot

hi try running sfc /scnw http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66...c-command.html and see if it sorts any system errors glad you got it sorted for your dl and your most welcome
