[SOLVED] Vista Reformat Help Needed

I did a little research to see if someone previously had asked this, but it seemed all the older posts were about different computers. So I figured I would try my own luck, with my own brand.

My computer is really beat up from all the crap my g/f has been doing on it, and desperately needs a reformat. It is an HP w1907, bought from walmart(P.O.S.). Got it for christmas a couple years back.. Anywho, I want to reformat it, but just like every other pre-built computer, it comes with no disks at all. So, I heard rumor of not actually reformatting, but restoring?! Can someone give me directions on how to reformat, without a disk.. Cuz it needs it bad.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Vista Reformat Help Needed

Or try ESC key during boot- there should be a recovery partition on that system. Elect to restore system to factory defaults.

If no recovery partition, you can purchase replacement HP OEM Vista DVDs for about USD $20.

Vista will reformat OS drive during re-install.

Re: Vista Reformat Help Needed

You're welcome.

You will like Vista re-install - like brand new system.

Be sure to allow Windows Updates to take charge and assure all manufacturer driver updates in. Then install anti-virus of your choice and go on from there.
