Re: BOOTMGR is missing
Hi, you can use anybodys copy of Vista to fix this see if you can borrow one (as long as it is 32 or 64) . Or according to HP:-
Turn on the PC and repeatedly press the F11 key when the HP logo appears. On the recovery screen, click Advanced Options. Press the Alt and the D keys at the same time. The command prompt will appear. (thats the theory) if it does type these two commands press enter after each one:- Code:
bootrec.exe /fixboot bootrec.exe /fixmbr Restart and post back to let us know how you got on.

Re: BOOTMGR is missing
I got a similar problem, being unable to boot on Vista after an attempt to install OpenSUSE 11.1.
Running the commands of bootre.exe didn't fix anything:my PC continues to boot on continuing OpenSUSE installation from a CD1. Moreover, while I was to run (without any effect) the utilities of the orginal recovery disk, after running bootrec.exe with the option given by Microsoft's "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392",the restore points disppeared. |
