My Toshiba A305-56894 won't turn off (using Vista Premium)
My father just bouhght this Toshiba A305-56894 (2 days ago). It was completely new but there is a problem: the computer won't turn off. If we do try to turn it off ("going to start", "turn off computer" or just manually turn it off etc.) it is turned off for a little while and after some minutes re-starts by itself. I think this might me related to Vista (Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Version 6.0.6001), which was installed using the CD program coming with the computer in its box.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give us… |

Re: My Toshiba A305-56894 won't turn off (using Vista Premium)
Hi -
The "shutdown" option is the one to use. Not sure if this is the same as "turn off computer" or not - START | click on > (bottom-right) | click on shutdown Also check power options. START | type power into the start search box | select "power options" uptop under Programs | click on "change plan settings" | click on "restore defaults for this plan" One question that I have, please - you mentioned the Vista DVD. Did the computer come with Vista pre-installed or did you have to load Vista yourself? It s/b the former. A sure way to shut the system down that you should not have to resort to, but can use - START | type cmd in the start search box | Right-click on cmd uptop under Programs | the black cmd/DOS screen appears | type the following: Code:
shutdown /s Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |
