Attachmant of scan file to default mail client

Hi,

I'm making some alternations to the parents in law pc, and have come up against a slight hitch, I have change M.outlook 2002 to windows live mail as the default mail client, but when i scan a file in the HP Office jet 6310 to email, it keep bringing up the word page with the attachemnt in and not W live mail with the attachment.

I have made sure this is the default mail client, by clicking email on a picture file and it comes up then, but NOT by scan to email facility.

As the parents in la are not at all PC freindly i'm trying to make all this as easy as possible.

Any tips to correct this problem,? or does one think its a HP printer issue rather than PC Vista issue ?

I'm not sure if you have completely changed the default email to windows live. I'm not sure but this link may help. This site made an instruction video on how to do it. helpviavideodotcom.

Thanks, but unfortunetely that is the way in which I changed the email client.

HOWEVER if i choose send via email on my HP printer, when i finish this process it should bring up my new default email with the attachment, but it doesn't.

Does anyone think as i mentioned above if this is an issue with the email settings in scanning within my HP printer. As appose to the default mail client settings.

I do hope this makes sense !!!
