Installing XP on a Laptop running Vista Home Premium

I tried installing XP on a laptop running Vista but the installation was aborted when it could not 'see' the Hard drive

go into the bios and find somewhere where it says AHCI, press enter, and switch it to IDE mode. Vista can reconize it because it has the correct drivers and windows xp doesnt. when you get windows xp installed, install AHCI drivers if you want nd switch the thing in the bios to AHCI. if you restart the computer and you get a blue screen of death, then you didnt install the AHCI drivers right. so switch it back to ide and all... its not really a nesesity to install ACHI driver but its really nice to have cuz its a little faster the IDE but not by much at all...

hi before you try anything check you can get all the drivers for xp to run on a vista machine as you have seen xp does not always have the drivers needed so you need to check for all try mfr support website
