A weirdie!

Hi.

My Vista mail is playing up - when I open it and it indicates there are some new messages downloading, I wait it finishes, saying there are say 1 or 2 new messages - but there are none. And when I scroll back it has highlighted old messages that have been read, replied to, etc..!

I don't know if there are real new messages that haven't shown up, and I have to right click remove the bold type indication on the old mail.

Any idea what this might be.

It's a Acer aspire laptop with Vista home basic and all updates. Only started doing it in the last few days.

Cheers

Re: A weirdie!

thanks for the reply seantobin5.

maybe I didn't explain it correctly.

When I open Windows Mail (formerly Outlook Express) on the upper toolbar, It often indicates that new mails are being downloaded, but then nothing new appears when it has completed. Instead it has emboldened a couple of past received emails already in the inbox and already read and/or replied to. I then have to right click these and mark as read.

They also have a small blue box with a + in it, to the left of the envelope symbol. I don't know what that means.

I have sent myself emails from another address to check they get through and they do, but it does seem quieter than usual.

cheers
