My computer decided to not boot after acting strangely

Okay so I was on a game world of warcraft and I was on ventrillo talking to people as usual and I have to press ctrl in order for them to hear me. Weeelllll all of a sudden I press ctrl and the start menu blinks until I let go so I try restarting my computer but when I try and click start menu it just flashed so I had to hold the power button to turn it off and now here's my issue, it goes to "Boot Menu" and blinks " select a boot first device" I don't use limewire or download porn or any of that and im using a hp pavilion a1700n

Re: My computer decided to not boot after acting strangely

hi and welcome for whatever reason your comp has forgotten or lost the boot order so you need to select it you can opt for 1 cd/dvd 2hdd or hdd first then just read the bottom of the screen for how to save and exit

if nothing else works, use the recovery partition and it should repair some boot files and all...

Re: My computer decided to not boot after acting strangely

Okay so it let me back on, after I shut it down, unplugged all the cords and woke up in the morning to try again :D. Buuttt it did it again, and when it does it I can't click anything, everything blinks so i'm assuming the computer is acting as if one of my keyboard keys are stuck but i unplugged my keyboard to see if one was and that's not the problem (besides i just bought this keyboard two days ago :P!) aaanddd yeah. i think it might have to do with the fact that my computer has been on for like 9 months straight without being shutdown, but every night i have been turning it off now bcause it scared me from when it did that. So what should I do to fix it?
