Restoring files from Norton 360 back up cd

I recently had to have my computer reformatted. I have 2 c/d's with back up info from when I had Norton 360. I no longer have Norton 360. How do I restore these files back onto my hard drive?

I am with you on this - was going to post roughly the same query. I have an expired 360 account with backup on ext hdd.

Cant read it tho - just shows as jargon. why do they always encrypt the data!

The Norton Software is proprietary. If you create a backup using the Notrton software, you have to use the Norton Software to restore the backup.

Hi ellupo62,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

If you were using Norton 360 version 3, there is a file on the CD called "ARestore.exe" which you can run to recover the files. Insert the CD into your drive and then use Windows Explorer to locate the utility on the disk, launch it and then follow the instructions.

If the files were backed-up using Norton 360 version 2, you will need to have the last disk in the set and then launch the restore utility.

If you still cannot restore the files, please contact Norton Customer Service via the link below.

Norton Customer Service

Thanks,
Mike
