Question Dual Booting Question.

Hi i'm new here, and this is my first post

OK here goes. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i'd like to know if there's a guide on how to boot both Mac OS X on a windows computer.

Im using an Acer 3100
1.0GB Ram
60GB Hard Drive, with plenty of space left.
(Not sure if im missing anything)

Hope this works

Re: Dual Booting Question.

If i am not mistaken... to have dual boot means to have more than one partition in a single hard drive. That way you can install windows in partition C and Mac and partition D

Re: Dual Booting Question.

Hi, the short answer is no, you have a PC it is incompatible with MAC. If you really know what you are doing and have access to the right tools it can be done, you need emulators. My advice forget it. To get the true Mac experience buy a Mac.

Re: Dual Booting Question.

Some people don't have $1500 to blow on a fancy OS . Or even the extra $200-$300 for a Mac w/ same specs as a PC... There ARE ways of doing it, but they aren't legal. Which is why you won't find them here at TSF...

Re: Dual Booting Question.

I reccomend ubuntu, to get it go here.
www.ubuntu.com/ and download it, It's an ISO file so you will have to burn it to disk, I'd reccomend using ISOBurn.

I found some tutorials which would help me explaining.

Check out insanelymac.com there are plenty of guides on how to use a legit Mac cd with a PC.. its not easy.. there are some released that are already available but of course that is not legal. But yes I have been running Mac on my PC and it is Linux with a pretty interface.

Re: Dual Booting Question.

I'm not too sure, It would be easier to do it on a CD disk. Its less than 700MB so will fit.

Re: Dual Booting Question.

Yes, you can load it onto second partition from a USB -- I've done it. And linux is better than mac, imo. It's pretty straight forward if you read the installation guide on their website.
