Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Hi -
Check the device manager for any red/yellow flags. Expand the keyboard branch in Device manager and un-install ALL. Right-click on each, select uninstall. Then re-boot; Vista will re-install the drivers. Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Hi what happens when you expand Human Interface devices? You have 2 Human Interface Keyboards. What shows when you go to start run and type :-
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL Main.cpl

![]() About running the Dll file, I'm not clearly understand that, can you just explain again ? run one file per time or all of them ? with or without "-" ? the rundll32.exe did not appear anything, the shell32.dll required a software to run and the "Control_RunDLL Main.cpl" cannot be founded in system. Sorry for my bad PC knowledge :D |

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
What are you trying to change about the Keyboard?
I see a keyboard listed in post #3 if you right click and select properties it will take you to the driver. |

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Hi go to device manager and uninstall both HID keyboards , leave only the standard PS2 keyboard. The command I gave you was to open either mouse or keyboard in the control panel (main.cpl).you need to copy paste the whole line into run it is "one" command.
Code:
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL Main.cpl

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Hi JC there was a little method in my madness here. I wanted to insure shell 32 was not corrupt the command next would be "Main.cpl Keyboard" as it now stands only "mouse" should show. SO t2nlong do what JC suggests if Mouse opens and instead of "main.cpl" in search type "main.cpl keyboard" without the quotes. The fix for the problem if Main.cpl does not open is to reregister shell32.dll, now I do not like to do this unless you have to plays havoc with third party desktop add on's etc...

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Apologies - premature "sumbit" on my part - the 1st line got chopped off.
I wanted to ask what the difference was as I got to the same mouse screen with both. Thanks. . . JC . Last edited by jcgriff2; 02-08-2009 at 08:12 PM. |

Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Thanks all, I have tried all your way and this is the resul :
- when i run the main.cpl, the Mouse Properties appears only. - when i run the code of JANAE, the same result as above. - when i run "main.cpl keyboard", the Keyboard Properties appears. But my problem is I can find the icon "Keyboard" to start this properties in Control Panel. @ Wrench97 : i would like to change my keyboard speed because the cursor is too slow for my typing-speed, about 170 words/min. Re: can not see Keyboard function in Vista on Laptop
Hi, go to start run and type devmgmt.msc open keyboard and right click on PS2 keyboard and select uninstall reboot when asked . Windows will reinstall and ask you to reboot again after this check the control panel "keyboard" should be there. Bit of a shock here in Aus at the moment so many people burnt to death a tragic day for our nation.
