windows dvd maker

some how i lost windows dvd maker and i can't burn any dvds with any programs i have.does the dvd maker have anything to do with burning dvds with the other programs if so how do i reinstall it?thanks for any info you can give. p.s. im kinda new to burning dvds.

Have you tried re-installing or doing a repair install of one of the disk burning apps? Losing DVD Maker might have caused a problem with a shared file.

You could try reverting to a set point from a time when the DVD Maker worked.

Or you could open the device manager, remove the entry(ies) for the DVD writer, and reboot. This will force Windows to re-install the DVD writer drivers.
