Question Doom3 on vista

I have a Gateway m305crv with vista home premium installed, attached to it an external drive with 160 gb. I installed Doom3 and made it compatible with xp. It didn't work. I tried to run it as is and it didn't work. It worked before when I had xp home on this laptop. I attached the reading that keeps popping up and hopefully you can tell me what it means.

EEK! King of the Lab & Doom3 on vista

I have discovered after *Many, Many Errors* and reading all my dump files, that I am NOT, "King of the Lab".

My vista business seems to have problems with almost every piece of hardware and driver I had. It especially did not like my nvidia drivers both on my graphics card and motherboard (even though I updated all my drivers).

I have therefore decided, that I have to rebuild my whole computer. I do a huge amount of graphics work with Corel Draw, a tremendous amount of file work.... and my whole computer freezes constantly!! I have done an awesome amount of research and many other people that have complained about vista seems to have problems with file work. So I am hoping that the new equipment along with drivers other then nvidia will change things for me since I do like vista.

Well, that's all I have to say for now.... other input would be appreciated.

Re: Doom3 on vista

as far as display adapter driver I under the impression everything is up to date and if the video driver is what i think it is i looked into gateway and if i remember right this particular laptop don't have a video driver that is if i understood them correctly. been trying to figure out how and if it is possible to get a faster processor. I am working on getting a 80 gb internal hard drive sooon I hope.

My System

Re: Doom3 on vista

Hi -

Per your attachment in 1st post -
Code:
2191 MHz Intel CPU with MMX & SSE & SSE2
1008 MB System Memory
8 MB Video Memory

********************
ERROR: The current video card / driver combination
does not support the necessary features********************
The error message is the aftermath.

My question, though - are the #'s in red correct for your system?

Here is info re: compatibility from Microsoft for Vista -
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/
http://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Pro...g=d&cid=&f=64p

You want "Certified for Vista" - don't settle for "works with Vista".

Regards. . .
