Re: vistas finally done it

Hi, when you have problems with the screen (GUI) it is most likely caused by a problem with the Video card (also known as the graphics card). Before we go to the solution for this it is also possible that the cable from the Monitor to the PC is poorly seated or failing check that it is firmly in place first. For the Video card go to start run and type:- devmgmt.msc press enter this will open device manager now go to "display adapters" and right click select "uninstall" reboot to let windows reinstall the drivers see how you go post back the results.

vistas finally done it ? ha i dont think its vista related at all i think its your hardware failing and the first thing come to mind is what jenae said, your monitor cable is loose? faulty gpu or you live close to a paint shop close to fumes ? check the connections first and come back

Re: vistas finally done it

I'm sure MBRx didn't mean any offence in what he said, perhaps he was trying to look at things in a light-hearded manner?

Anyway, lets be civil about things and not allow this thread degenerates into something bad.

As the others have suggested, make sure all the connections between the monitor and computer are secure. Remove and re-attach to be sure.

Do you overclock your graphics card or cpu at all?
