Overclocking Intel Pentium D 830 causes Vista to blue screen
Hey guys. I'm having a problem overclocking my processor. I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Processor is an Intel Pentium D 830 (3.0 Ghz). I'm trying to overclock it and find it's maximum stable overclock, but i can only get so high before i get a blue screen that says FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. On XP, i never got that, and got it up to 3.9 Ghz stably. On Vista, i can only get up to about 3.5-3.7 before it crashes. Does anyone know why I'm getting that blue screen, and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance :)

I'd say that particular processor has exceeded its limit.

Re: Overclocking Intel Pentium D 830 causes Vista to blue screen
Hey, thanks for the fast reply. I was thinking either that, or maybe Vista just doesn't like my processor. I'm hoping i get my income tax return check in, i can get an Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 in it :D
