Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
I've got Vista HP, but the Snipping Tool is no where to be found (All Programs>Accessories>nothing)???
EDIT: As I couldn't find the Sniopping Tool, I tried PrtScn on my Microsoft Egrometric keyboard, and nothing happened! Maybe these keys have to be activated and simply pressed? Did I do something wrong? Last edited by flycaster; 01-20-2009 at 05:20 AM. |

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
What happens when you try:
- Start -> Run -> type: SnippingTool - Click OK As for PrtScrn, after you press the key, try loading Paint then select Edit -> Paste Hope that helps

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
Unbelievable why I didn't get ST to appear. Would you believe that the proper response is case sensitive dependent??? Typing in "snipping tool" doesn't work. I stumbled upon the cse sensitive stuff becasue after tryingyour suggestions and not getting ST, I copied "Snipping Tool" and pasted it into the run field. I don't think I've ever seen this before. I mean, usually when I search, I never use caps. Any explanation???
As for PrtScn, when I press it, nothing at all happens. So, I'm in a quandry on how to load Paint. Actually, I don't understand how to impliment your suggestion. |

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
No idea why the Snipping Tool didn't work in lower case...I just tested it that way and it worked?
As for PrtScn, after you press it try; Start -> run -> type: mspaint Click OK Then when Paint loads, click Edit -> Paste (or use the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard to paste)

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
It worked, Nickster...Thanks. But would you explain something to me? Even though I have this cool keyboard, I don't use any of the enhanced keys as I'm just happy with the ergometric aspect of the board. My question is how come the there is no immediate response when pressing one of the enhanced keys? None of the keys do anything on their own...

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
They must not be defined. In the control panel go in to Keyboards and if there is a Buttons tab got there and direct the path to where you want it to go,
As for print screen. If not a laptop, tap print screen and then in accessories open paint and then press ctrl and v to paste it. Nothing is suppose to happen when u press print screen atleast visably anyways.

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
Just how do I go to where you are directing me? I couldn't find "programs" in Start-maybe I missed it, and then I tried All Programs, but couldn't find features or windows features.

Re: Can this be? No Snipping Tool in Vista HP
Hi, sorry, you just assume people are up with it, go to control panel (classic view) "programs and features" and on the left you will see "turn windows features on or off" windows features will open and scroll to put a check in tablet PC it should be checked by default...
