Internet Explorer going slow and downloading (web pages) slowly

Oh f i downloaded something and i thought it was dodgy, i think main problem is that it had a compatibility issue. as soon as i run it it conflicted with another program and i uninstalled it straight away, but it said it didn't install correctly so i reinstalled it correctly and uninstalled it with windows recommendations. it was completely removed from my system but now internet explorer is downloading pages REALLY SLOWLY!!! My comp was so fast and downloaded internet pages in nano seconds, now its taking 20 seconds to fullly load my homepage. I now its something to do with downloading images etc. to web pages etc. because i opened about 20 homepages and they all loaded at about the same time so it's obviously not that my system is going slow or can't handle it. I hope the answer is not to revert to before i installed the program because if u will see my previous post my back ups have been failing so i don't have a back up, the only option is to roll back to about 1month ago and lose all my settings and i think that will mess with my comp and force me to doa full system restore so i hope y'all got a solution, thanks

My System

Re: Internet Explorer going slow and downloading (web pages) slowly

Hi -

We are more than willing to help you with your system trouble(s). But this will never be accomplished by creating new threads on a daily basis that run into and over each other. You mentioned in your post in this thread to see your previous thread. So I went to look and found what I believe to be much more than an sluggish IE7 that developed over the last 24-48 hours:

All of the above listed threads except the last one in red have been closed. PLEASE do not begin any new threads in any TSF Support forum until we get through this one. Now, on to the business at hand. . . your system.

.

I will take a look at your system, but require system information in order to do so. Please follow THESE Instructions carefully. The batch script must run at an elevated admin level (right-click, select Run as Admin) and will need at least 5 minutes to run - so please let it do its job. Attach the 2 resulting zip files to your next post. I would also like to see another screen shot of Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc).

Did you follow Lead3's advice and contact Dell to find out if your system has a 120 GB or a 160 GB hard drive? Have you done anything to partition or change the configuration of your hard drive? Anything with Windows 7? Please elaborate in detail the exact nature of your system problems at this time. The more organized detail, the better.

Any ?? - just let me know.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

Re: Internet Explorer going slow and downloading (web pages) slowly

Sorry about that i thought since nobody had replied the thread would just close, i will try to manually close threads in future. Now the blue screen problems i was having i solved by uninstallling vuze and rolling back. The internet explorer problem i have solved. I contacted dell and it turns out i do only have a 120gb system. I also have created space for a partition by shrinking by main volume down by 30gb but when i tried to create a new volume it said that i already had the maximum number of partitions, i was just wondering if there was a way to delete one of my existing partitions or incorporate windows 7 into it.
I have run the program u suggested, i also tried the perfmon report but i couldn't get the report to run i mus be doing something wrong. anyway i have attached the disk management screenie for you to look at. I shrunk my volume to allow for a new partition for windows seven but as i said it comes up with an error message that i have max number of partititons already. I hope my system is running ok, if you see any problems or something i cud do please let me know.

thanks
