Re: Downloads Wont Open

Make sure you see where it is saving to before you click download. You will normally have an option to choose where you want it before the download begins, just make sure you click save and not open. Also, where are you downloading from if you dont mind me asking? If it is from a file sharing program you may want to check the settings in there to see where the default folder to download to is.

Re: Downloads Wont Open

Did you try downloading it and saving it to a specified location like I said?

Re: Downloads Wont Open

It seems that people have been having this same issue with AVG 8.0 installed. Do you use AVG 8.0? If so, uninstall it and reinstall it and see if this resolves your issue.

Re: Downloads Wont Open

Try some of the steps below.

Go to IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Uncheck Enable third-party browser
extentions.

If you using any third party download manager, disable or uninstall. If you
are using a Firewall program, check the settings. (Tiny is known for this).
If you using an "Ad" filter program disable it and see if downloads work.

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types/[File Type in
Question]/Advanced. Put a check in the box that reads: Confirm open after
download.

Clean/clear out your Temp/TIF/cache files.
Temp Files: IE/Tools/Internet Options/Delete Temporary Internet Files
Temp Files: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp

Start/Run/CMD. Type this command: REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL. Ok/Reboot. Then go
to: IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Connections Tab Click on LAN
Settings/Uncheck the Automatically detect settings Make sure no other
settings on this screen are enabled.

Re: Downloads Wont Open

Hi, thats good advice from Ravaroo. Before we get into the possible reg fix can you check your downloads location easiest way is to click on start and then your user profile will be at the top of the darker second column (Bill, Mary or whatever...) Click on this the user will open in explorer and look under downloads.Do you see them there if so what happens when you try to execute?
