WebCam not found?
I have a philips spc110nc webcam that I am trying to use to video chat via Messenger or Gmail. The camera works when I access it through "My Computer" but doesn't put up a picture with the video chat. According to the camera "directions" I should be able to plug it in and go... obviously not! What else do I need to do?

hi ok have you looked near the top right side of messenger their is a little square icon click on it and a drop down menu will appear choose tools then webcam settings to configure your cam and messenger

I'm not sure about the little square icon but I went to preferences and webcam and selected the webcam that I wanted to use and saved it but still nothing... I feel bad b/c my parents bought probably 6 webcams for our whole family so we can all talk but we can't figure it out! Haha!! I also tried it with Gmail chat... hmmm....

UPDATE::: It works! I don't know why it doesn't work with Gmail or Messenger (especially since it says on the box that it's compatible with Messenger), but it works just fine with Skype! My new favorite!

hi ok as i said in the previous post top right hand side of messenger just above the icon for add contacts is another icon hover your mouse over it it will say show menu click on it a drop down menu will appear in the menu you will see tools move your cursor/pointer down over tools another will show more menu options one being webcam settings choose that and adjust the settings for your webcam
