I loaded 360 2.0 on a hp pavillion tx 2000 after de installing the original norton and runing the norton register clean tool ( I think) and my computer crashed with blank screen. Many restarts later, I used f8 to start it in safe mode, copied most files off it and then got it to start used norton to scan for virus, ran registery clean from norton. My computer would not go through the restore process after first start. After it powered down, tried to start and f8 won't work. Any suggestions? I don't have a back up disk but the 2 disk system restore from HP. Don't want to use as I will have to reload all of my software again. A couple of clues, norton 360 on the site says it does not support tablet pcs but I called them and they said they support this model. I also had a driver conflict with the external monitor driver and should have fixed it. I have not loaded any major windows updates since I bought it in July. I did load the driver updates from HP in September as it crashed then.

Re: HP Vista 64 crashes after loading Norton 360 f8 doesn't work
1) get a linux live cd...bear in mind it must support ntfs? or fat or whteva
2) backup all your data...to external disk 3) reinstall operating system DOne |
