HP Laserjet 2300 Latest Drivers Problems
Hi
I have a Windows 2003 Server with a shared printer (LaserJet 2300dtn). I also have two workstations - Windows XP Pro SP2 and Windows Vista Ultimate SP1. These have printers defined which make use of the server-defined Laserjet 2300. Because my Vista machine is a new installation, I upgraded to the latest printer drivers from the HP download site. However, since doing this, I have come across three problems that are causing me a headache: 1. PCL5e and PCL6 drivers: When printing Duplex, whether I set "Two-Sided" or "Two Sided, flip short edge" on a landscape print, the second side prints out upside-down and I can't see anyway to correct this. Also, for every copy of a document I print, I get an additional blank page. I frequently print hundreds of copies of documents so an extra blank page for each is very undesireable. 2. Postscript Driver: This works better in that the duplex prints the second side the right way and it does not kick out the extra blank pages. However, when I select to print from Tray 3 in the Print dialogue - it prints from tray 2. I could in theory get round this by moving my letterheads to tray 3 and putting the plain paper I want to print on in tray 2 - but this is not the desireable solution. I am experiencing the same problems whether I use my XP machine or my Vista machine. Does anyone have any ideas as to a fix for these problems? Last edited by Alimoge; 12-10-2008 at 11:33 AM. |
