Vista Ultimate 64 bit BSOD

Every few days on a more or less random basis, Vista crashes. About half the time this happens when the computer is idle and I'm away from it. When I'm using it, it doesn't seem to matter what I may be doing. It crashes. Vista has all the latese updates.

I was running XP (32 bit) on this hardware without a problem. The Vista install was on a newly formatted drive.

I've downloaded the Debugging Tools for Windows but this has not helped me. I've attached the minidump files for the last month or so.

Thanks

Hi Tom. . .

Apologies this thread from last week was not answered. I deleted the new thread from Dec 17 as it is the same as this one.

I'll run the dumps - but I need add'l info from you.

Download Live SysInternals Autoruns from Microsoft TechNet and SAVE it to your DOCUMENTS folder. Next, download the attached zip and extract the batch file to your DESKTOP. Then go to desktop, right-click on the batch file and select Run as Administrator.

It will run for approx 5 minutes - you will see status screen and several others open & close. No interaction - just let it run. When finished, go to your documents folder and zip up the newly created folder named TSF_Vista_Support and attach to next post.

Any ? - please let me know.

Regards. . .

Re: Vista Ultimate 64 bit BSOD

Couple quick thoughts

--> You've got an ancient version of McAfee on your machine. Update it to the current version or get rid of it.

--> See if there's a newer wireless/NIC driver available for your machine.
