keep getting these error pop ups ...winhttp.dll msascui.exe bad image

hi,
I'm running vista home on my notebook. after watching a movie my system went mad! i kept getting error messages such as...
c:window\system32\winhttp dll winhttp.dll msascui.exe bad image

i just assumed it was a virus so i used Avira to scan it but came back with nothing then i figured it was a registry problem so i use registry easy wich scanned and came back with a grab bag of errors over a thousand. after i cleaned it i am still having the following issues...

1) c:window\system32\winhttp dll winhttp.dll msascui.exe bad image (different program failures with the same error like skype.exe bad image)

2) it drags terribly once logged in when loading the desktop.

3) extremely slow (actually a little better since i ran the reg cleaner. i can actually open programs as well as media player.)

I don't know what to do or what is causing this problem any advise would be great.

I suggest that you proceed to to our Security Center, HiJackThis Log Help Forum, to have your HJT logs reviewed by a Security Analyst.

Be sure to follow THESE STEPS carefully before posting your logs in the HJT Log Help Forum.

Please be patient as the Security Analysts are very busy and one will get to you as soon as possible.
